Military Ball Beauty Checklist

Hey y'all! Its officially Military Ball season! If it's your first time attending and you're a little confused when it comes to booking your beauty services, don't sweat it, I got you!

Usually, the Marine Corps ball starts in November but I can't begin to tell you the amount of phone call I've received (already) from makeup clients regarding when they should get their hair and makeup done. Clients literally call me asking for advice. Their biggest obstacle is TIME especially if their Military Ball is out of town.

Since I started doing makeup in 2014, I've done a lot of Marine Corps Ball attendees (my dad is even a 30 year marine veteran). If you follow my Military Ball Beauty Checklist step by step, everything will go smoothe!

    1. Hair. When you're preparing to schedule your beauty services for the Military Ball, I ALWAYS tell my clients to book your hair appointment FIRST. Start thinking about the type of hairstyle you want; if you just want to get it styled on ball day or if you are wanting the works. One client actually told me that she's planning on getting the works on the morning of her ball such as cut, color and style. I don't recommend doing that at all. You have to remember that you will be racing against time and there will be many other women in the salon as well. If you need any other hair services other than styling, I highly recommend getting that complete earlier in the week so on ball day all you need is a simple style. If you need a hair stylist, book with our stylists Janella and Alicia at our very own hair salon, Divine Designz Hair Palace. It's located two doors down from Divine Designz Cosmetics. We work together to ensure our clients are done in a timely fashion. They book up super fast! For stylist Janella text 910-934-7732 to schedule an appointment for stylist Alicia, book online at tamedbyalicia.net
    2. Brows. Be sure to get your brows groomed and remove any facial hair prior to makeup appointment. This helps your makeup to go on smoothly.
    3. Makeup. I highly recommend getting your hair done first and makeup after to ensure your makeup doesn't get messed up during your hair appointment. Once you've booked your makeup appointment here, next decide on the type of eye look you would like. My Military Ball makeup special is a full face makeup application that includes any eye look (natural or glam) and eyelashes for $85. Do you want a eyeshadow look to match your dress? Do you want a glitter eyeshadow look to make your dress pop or maybe just a neutral look because you don't wear a lot of makeup? Having a look already in mind is super helpful especially on extremely busy days. If you can't seem to come up with a look, don't worry, I will come up with something beautiful that you will love. Be sure to have a picture of your dress handy so that I can draw inspiration from it. If you’re looking for something super light, be sure to check out my Half Face makeup service! This service comes with brows filled in, eyeshadow, lashes and under eye concealer!
    4. Nails. This is a service that can be done a few days before the ball. Start thinking about that type of nail design you will like. If you’re searching for a great nail salon to go to, check out our nail salon Divine Designz Nail Salon! It’s located directly next door to Divine Designz Cosmetics! Check out our Military Ball nail specials down below! Click here to book!

At Divine Designz we are your one stop shop for all things beauty with three salons: makeup, nails and hair side by side at your convenience! Give us a call at 910-333-9637 to schedule your appointments!
